The Eralis Resource Translation utility is a single executable file which does not run as an add-on to SAP Business One. There are no installation requirements for this utility.
The screen above is the main interface for the Resource Translation utility, with the tabs along the top breaking the standard system text labels into their various categories.
Screen Function | Details |
---|---|
Menu Items tab | This tab lists system text labels relating to menu items. These include all the menu items, such as the values under the main Job menu, along with all right-click menu options that are available in different parts of the system. |
Error Messages tab | This tab contains all the red-line error messages that can be generated from Eralis Job. |
System Messages tab | This tab includes user prompts and queries that the system raises while obtaining feedback from a user. |
Captions tab | This tab includes system feedback messages relating to activities or processes that are being carried out. |
Titles tab | This tab contains all the field titles / labels that are visible on the Job forms. |
Form tab | This tab contains additional information relating to the fields displayed on the various tabs. |
Upload button | This function is used to scan through a directory of XML form files and update the Eralis_Resource.xml file with the necessary labels and references. |
Merge button | This button is used to merge two resource files together. In a situation where multiple people are working on different parts of the resource file, the merge function allows the user to select a resource file from which the alternate text can be imported into a source master resource file. |
Translate Forms button | Regenerates the English form XML files based on the alternate text values entered into the resource file. |
Open button | Allows you to open an Eralis_Resource.xml file. |
Save As button | Allows you to open an Eralis_Resource.xml file. |
Copy Standard to Alternate | Copies all the standard English terms across to the translated fields, which allows the user to make minor changes to personalize the system to the requirements of a customer without having to enter complete text strings. |
Please be aware that inside the system text, predominantly in the error messages and system messages areas, there are special characters included which the system uses to add information specific to the message, such as document numbers or job numbers. These characters are enclosed in { } and must be left inside the altered text. Failure to include these will result in errors within the system.
