The Eralis Job add-on for SAP Business One is capable of being translated into multiple languages, or having the labels and phrases altered to suit the terminology that is relevant to the environment in which it is being used.
The translation is carried out via a utility tool that is available for partners to download.
To understand the way in which the translation tool works, it is important to understand the structure of the system and where the information is being drawn from.
There are two areas where language information is held within Eralis Job.
- The first is in a resource file, Eralis_Resource.xml, which is installed in a language folder within the Eralis Job installation directory. This file holds the error messages, labels and phrases in the default English language, along with the respective value in a translated foreign language.
- The second area is in the actual layout and design of the screen forms that are used with Eralis Job. These are all held in an XML directory within the Eralis Job installation directory.
To have the system completely operational in a foreign language it is necessary for both of these areas to be updated to reflect the foreign language. The translation tool allows you to open an existing Eralis_Resource.xml file, enter the foreign language equivalent of the text, and then regenerate the XML form files making use of the foreign labels.
