The non-productive scheduling function allows you to enter details about planned non-productive times in advance, to prevent a resource from being scheduled for productive work when they are not available. The types of non-productive work would include:
For staff
- Planned annual leave
- Statutory holidays
- Company planned events making the staff member unavailable for other work
For resources
- Required preventative maintenance
The non-productive scheduling function can be carried out from two places:
- For planned non-availability the company can access the Non-productive Scheduling screen: Job > Job Scheduling > Non-productive Scheduling
- For unplanned non-availability of a resource (e.g. a staff member phones in sick) the manager can display the non-productive Subjobs on the Job Scheduling tool and allocate
their time to these Subjobs.
Non-productive Scheduling Screen
The Non-productive Scheduling screen is a calendar based form that allows the company to assign planned non-productive work to individual or multiple resources. This will then show the resources assigned to the linked non-productive Subjob on the main Job Scheduling screen, to prevent the staff member from being double scheduled.
The Non-productive Scheduling screen can be accessed from the main modules menu: Job > Job Scheduling > Non-productive Scheduling.
The left portion of the screen displays a calendar where days on which entries have been made are indicated with a red underlined date. The right side of the screen displays a grid of all the entries that have been entered for the date that is highlighted on the left. The grid is read only, but entries can be edited by double clicking the row.
