The job transactions import service is aimed at companies that use the Eralis Service or Eralis Anywhere applications, or any company that is posting transactions to Eralis Job from an external application. The service effectively automates the web import facilities that are required to be run, to import the transactions posted from these other applications into Eralis Job.
Service Instances
The name of the service in the Eralis SAP Services Manager is SSMJobLineImport. By clicking on the Settings button, the system will open a list of all the service instances that have been configured. You can configure multiple instances of the service which allows you to connect to different databases and have the service execute on different schedules.
By clicking on the New button (or the Edit button for an existing instance), the system will take you through to the details behind the configuration.
Service Instance Configuration
Within the Instance Setup screen, the user can configure all the available options for the instance which includes the schedule for the frequency of running the service.
Field | Details |
---|---|
Name | User provided name for the service instance. |
Connection | Connection to be used for this service instance. Please see the connection setup for more information on the connections. |
Post Frequency | This value indicates the frequency that the service will look for new transactions to post. Please note that the frequency is calculated based on the completion of the last batch. If the frequency is set to 1 minute, and a batch takes 5 minutes to post, the system will wait the 5 minutes for the batch to finish posting, and then look for the next batch 1 minute after that. |
Frequency Start Time | If selected, this value determines the time that the service will start posting transactions. An example: if this value is set to 6:30am and the service is started at 8pm, then the service will wait until 6:30am the next day to commence posting transactions. |
Max Rows to Post in Single Transaction | This allows you to specify how big the batches can be when the system posts them. The bigger the batch of transactions, the longer it will take to post and potentially the bigger the impact will be on system performance. If the number of un-posted transactions exceeds the maximum number permitted for a single batch, then the system will create multiple batches in the same run. |
Only Post Where TRANSDATE = Today's Date | This is a limitation to ensure that only transactions for the current day are posted automatically. |
Exclude Non-billable Rows | This allows you to prevent rows that are marked as non-billable being posted through to Eralis Job. |
Group and Post By |
This function allows you to split the overall batch of transactions into smaller batches based on the grouping options provided. The available options are:
|
Max Failure Retry Count |
The system keeps track of the number of times a line has failed during the import process. You can set a maximum number of retries that the system will attempt before ignoring the transaction. By default, the value is set to -1 which indicates that the system must continue to try and import a failed line and not ignore it. |
Line Types |
This table allows the user to select the required line types from ENPRISE_JOBCOST_TEMPBATCHJOBLINES table to import using the SSMJoblineImport job directly to Eralis Job. If the user checks: M – Material (only Material lines will be automatically imported) S – Staff (only Staff lines will be automatically imported) R – Resouce (only Resource lines will be automatically imported) |
Auto Validate When Loaded |
If checked, the system will validate all the service setup information, including the connection status, when the connection details are loaded. |
Save button |
Saves the connection information and launches any database updates for that company database that may be needed for the service. If the database update fails for any reason the system will automatically disable the service preventing the service from running. |
Cancel button |
Closes the form without saving the changes. |
SERVICE INSTANCE ALERTS
The alerts function allows you to configure standard SAP Business One alerts to be sent to a specific user based on the success or failure of a batch import. The system provides default queries which need to be created by clicking on the Create Default button under the required section. This will create the query inside SAP Business One under an Eralis SSMJobLineImport alert category. These alerts can be modified if required using the standard SAP Business One tools.
