Excel copy and paste allows you to record transactions in an Excel spreadsheet and copy them directly into the Material Entry screen. For this process to work, the first row of the Excel spreadsheet must contain the column headers for the columns in the Material Entry screen. Please note that the order of the headers in the spreadsheet does not matter. At a minimum, you must have the following information:
- Item code
- Quantity
- Subjob
It is important to understand that any information copied from the spreadsheet into the Material Entry screen will take precedence over the default system information. If only the required information is entered, the system will populate the other fields from the default settings. However, if the user adds additional information to the spreadsheet and re-copies it into the Material Entry screen, the information in the spreadsheet will take precedence over the defaults.
When the information is copied from the spreadsheet using the standard copy function, it can be pasted into the Material Entry screen using the You Can Also button found in the bottom right corner. The information will be pasted into SAP Business One when Import Excel Transactions is selected. A system message may appear asking if you want to use the default sell price. If Yes is selected, the system will input the default sell price into the grid.
Please note that the system tracks warehouses by warehouse codes. If you want to change or specify the warehouse in the Excel spreadsheet, the warehouse code must be used.
