When upgrading an add-on application from Eralis, the process is the same as the installation process in that the upgraded version of the application is added as though the software was being installed. There is no need to uninstall the old version before you upgrade. The software will detect that a newer version is being installed and automatically uninstall the older version and install the new version.
When logging in to SAP Business One to upgrade our addons we suggest right clicking on the SAP Business One client and choosing to "run as administrator", this will ensure the user performing the upgrade has the appropriate permissions. The network user being used to perform the upgrade should also have local administrator rights to the server and machine(s) being upgraded.
We recommend that any upgrades be carried out by qualified SAP Business One Consultant and that upgrades are carried out in a test environment before being applied to a production environment. With all the applications, the products are continually evolving and these changes are all documented in the product release notes available with the version. However, testing is always needed to determine how the changes in the application impact the specific nature of how the software is being used in an environment.
