Eralis Job requires that SAP Business One is configured to use perpetual inventory. This is due to the nature of the integration between Eralis Job and General Ledger transactions that are created by Eralis Job. Configuring SAP Business One to not use perpetual inventory will cause the system to fail.
The Perpetual Inventory setting on the Company Details screen within SAP Business One cannot be changed once a transaction has been processed. Therefore, this must be set correctly when the system is first setup. Within a perpetual system, all inventory transactions are posted through the General Ledger and affect the inventory control account. This includes all purchases, transfers, sales and any other transactions. The General Ledger accounts are required to hold the inventory control balances, and the balance sheet contains a live value of the cost of inventory on-hand when perpetual inventory is enabled.
On the other hand, when periodic inventory is enabled there are no postings made to the General Ledger specifically for inventory transactions. As a result, there are no inventory control accounts. With this setting, there are fewer General Ledger accounts required when setting up and configuring warehouses, and inventory costs are posted directly to the income statement. However, a closing stock journal entry must be posted to the financials at period end for the cost of inventory on hand.
It is important to remember that Eralis Job must be configured to use perpetual inventory.
