The system cannot take a value directly from the quote as there is no definitive link between a quote line and the actual transaction.
Example:
I quote Employee A doing project management on a job at 100 per hour when his normal charge out is 120. What happens if Employee A is not able to do the work, rather Employee B does. The system cannot know that it has to use the price from the line for Employee A.
At the same time on a quote, the company may not specify employees, or they may use the same item code on all quote lines and just change the description which means that the same item is duplicated multiple times. The system cannot know which line to get the price from.
For this reason, we need to have a unique reference on the quote line - and to do this we use activities.
If you right click the quote line and add an activity to the line, then in the entry screen just add the Activity ID to the Activity field, the system will bring through the information directly from the quote line.
This is only possible if you have enabled the functions in the System Initialization screen:
Administration > System Initialization > Job > General Settings
Flag "Use Quoted Activity Sell Price"
