Eralis Job allows you to track the costs associated with any type of job that you execute. The definition of a job will vary by industry, but these are some common examples:
- An implementation project for a software supplier
- An implementation project for a hardware supplier
- Servicing a piece of equipment
- Building a piece of equipment for a specific customer need or requirement
- Internal research and development
There are a number of different types of jobs, and a single company may carry out only one specific type, or multiple types depending on their operations.
Eralis Job allows you to create jobs (also referred to as projects in some organizations) and track all associated activities, costs, billing and documentation.
To begin the process, you can optionally create a quote (otherwise known as a budget or estimate)
against the job, to identify the expected requirements of the job. This quote can be broken down to include anticipated staff labor, materials and expenses, as well as estimated resources for the job (for the purposes of Eralis Job, a resource is an asset that is owned by the company and used on a job).
You can then start recording what actually happens on the job. Once again, your actual values can be broken down by type (e.g. staff time, materials or expenses that have been incurred, resource usage).
The next step is to use that data for transactional purposes, like billing your customer based on either the quoted or actual cost of the job. You could also use the cost data in a custom manufacturing process.
The module is flexible, enabling use of the system in a number of different industries.
